My first post and for those out there fighting the fight on a minute by minute basis this blog forward will be dedicated to curiosity about living a sober life.
Time seems to be the component that has my curiosity lately. After all it is the biggest killer of mankind. You could say the biggest killer is cancer or smoking or heart problems or whatever but in the end it is time. We only have so much of it from start to finish and knowing how much is gone makes every minute that much more important. Fights have started for as little as being 15 minutes late. Planning how long to my next encounter with alcohol or drugs creates mood. Even love has a time element as to how long that new feeling of excitement will last.
There is definitely an element of time that correlates to happiness or the opposite. Breaking it down our lives are a long line of moments pasted together. Those moments are you and what others have to perceive you by. Our character is developed by it. Hearing the phrase "live in the moment" comes to life. When we do we really learn what living means and we no longer want that period of time messed up with clouded thinking or darkness. Darkness being depression or that place we go when we feel the need to partake in our drug of choice.
It feels good to stay in the moment and as long as the good moments pass pasted together the better it feels. It changes perceptions and being perceived into clearity.
Until next time here's to you!
